Guy’s Hospital is a large NHS hospital in the borough of Southwark in central London. It is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and one of the institutions that comprise the King’s Health Partners. In September 2016, the new Cancer Centre was opened at Guy’s Hospital which was designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and healthcare specialist architects, Stantec.
The centre brings together oncology services from across Guy’s and St Thomas, integrating research and treatment services within one 14-storey building. It creates a new gateway to the Guy’s Campus and provides a transition from the 300-metre height of the Shard and the hospitals’ Tower Wing to the lower-rise areas to the south.
Hall & Kay provided sprinkler systems throughout the Building starting at the Basement to the 9th floor with a OH3 Life Safety System. We also provided a Wet Riser system to the building, as well as fit-out connections to the 10th to 13th floors.
