Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School is one the largest secondary schools in London. The project involved 5 stages, the first of which – The Jerusalem Building or Block A – is a new build, whilst the remaining phases involved the refurbishment and re-modelling of existing buildings. Construction of the Jerusalem Building proceeded following demolition of an existing building on its site, and the school remained in occupation through the redevelopment.
Hall & Kay successfully completed a large and comprehensive sprinkler installation at Cardinal Wiseman School, which included modifications to some parts of the existing school, as well as new installations to the new build.
The project involved the installation of a new 27.5m³ sprinkler water tank and electric fire pumps, along with over 850 sprinkler head installations, varying from false ceiling heads in the classrooms and corridors, to exposed sprinkler heads in the pumphouse.
